The Creation Process
Dragonfly DreamZ creates functional art for your home
The creation process for each individual piece takes approximately 18 hours to complete from beginning to end. The ink/resin room is set to maintain a constant temperature of 81 degrees with a heater and separate wi-fi thermostat. Each piece is fitted on a "spinner" which turns at 5 RPM. Bill then carefully applies epoxy resin to each glass. Leigh, the artistic designer, gently places drops of alcohol ink in a specific combination of colors which move together to make a spectacular creation. Each glass, candle holder, or ornament must spin for 8 hours for the ink and resin to cure or dry. Finally, one more layer of epoxy resin is applied for durability and to seal the first inking and then cures for another 8 hours. Once this process is complete, the rim of each wine glass must be smoothed and cleaned with a razor, then handwashed and set to dry for a couple of hours. For our boutique customers, Leigh handwrites the name of each glass or candle holder on a tag and attaches it to the product and then they are ready to be boxed for shipping or delivery.
